Monotype Print Series – Drop 1
Monotype printing is a process in which gouache, pastel, and oil stick are applied intuitively to a single plate and printed only once. By repeatedly adding to, erasing from, and reworking the same plate, each print takes on a completely distinct appearance. Because all of the works originate from the same plate, an unexpected sense of continuity begins to emerge. Seen together, the series can feel like a life unfolding over time. Each monotype print is a unique work, often considered comparable to an original painting.
All monotypes are unique, one-of-a-kind works
